Recently, we stayed in phone contact with a congregant whose husband was having surgery in another state. We were able to share her ups and downs, rejoice in the success of the surgery, and let her know Beth Miriam cares about its families.

Family Affair not only shares our Shiva Guide and helps with the Shiva if needed, we are also there as a support during the mourning and healing process. We have referred widows and widowers to appropriate care. One widower gave back to the Temple by researching and leading a panel about final choices.

Meals of caring are fine for some people, but kids are different. We have delivered chocolate mint ice cream to a young congregant who had tonsils removed. A member of Family Affair did a mitzvah for a junior member by delivering a snazzy type of Dunkin Donut.


These are but a sampling of what we do. Please get involved. Just call the temple and tell them you want to be on the Family Affair Committee. You will be well-appreciated!
