We are looking for a Youth Education Coordinator to work with Rabbi Koppel for our Religious School.

We are hiring a Youth Education Coordinator and we hope that you are the right person for this position!

This position is 15 hours/week, year-round, $18,000 to $25,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
Responsibilities include:
Be present during religious school hours (and before and after) from 8 am to 1 pm on Sundays. Other hours are flexibly scheduled.
Make sure religious school registration is sent out to families and create class lists from that registration.
Work with the rabbi to implement curriculum for all grades.
Communicate with teachers to make sure their needs are met.
Be responsible for the weekly and yearly schedule for the school, with guidance from the rabbi.
Send out regular communication to teachers and to families regarding what is going on in the school.
Coordinate collecting attendance records from the teachers.
Make sure information for payroll, for teachers, is submitted in a timely way.
Partner with the rabbi to make sure needs of families and the school are being met in the school.
Support the rabbi in enhancing and implementing curriculum and special programs.
Order food for snack so that there is always a snack available for the students.
Partner with the rabbi to create and implement programming to enhance the religious school experience for students and families.
Other duties as assigned.
What we need:
Strong organizational and communication skills
Educational skills and knowledge, regarding Jewish education in particular
The maturity and sensitivity to handle confidential information and challenging situations or conversations
Basic computer skills, as well as the inclination to learn other or newer technologies, including synagogue software such as ShulCloud
Flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work through potentially stressful situations
Willingness to do what is needed, especially in the category of “other duties as assigned”
What would be helpful:
Bachelor’s. Associate Degree, or further degree(s) preferred
Drivers license strongly preferred
Previous experience in a complementary religious school or similar environment (including full time schools and other similar institutions)
Camp and youth group experience would be helpful in this position
Sense of humor
Desire to be around kids and people who like being around kids
Ability to pivot when unforeseen circumstances necessitate changes in plans

Salary: $18,000 to $25,000 per year, for approximately 15 hours a week. This position may qualify for a URJ CLASP Fellowship, for the right candidate, which would increase the salary, as well as the job description.
